The Texas Bluebonnet Wine Trail offers two Vintners Dinners throughout the course of the year — one in the fall and another in the spring — and they are detailed down the left side of the page. Each winery has its own events, respectively, which are listed by the month below. This is a general listing, so please visit the individual winery sites for more detailed information.

Texas Bluebonnet Wine Trail, October Trail Celebrating Texas Wine Month. Tickets on Sale NOW!

The Texas Department of Agriculture has designated October as Texas Wine Month. This year, our October Wine Trail celebrates Texas Wine Month with the addition of THREE new wineries along the Texas Bluebonnet Wine Trail, for a total of 10. Your ticket price of $25 for a single ticket or $45 for a Ticket for Two for the October trail includes two select wine tastings, paired with a unique sausage dish at each winery.
In addition to our wine and food pairings, each trail ticket holder will receive one raffle ticket at each winery they visit. Simply complete the raffle ticket and turned it in at the member winery at the time of visit. At the conclusion of the October wine trail, all raffle tickets collected by each winery will be combined into one drawing pot and winning raffle tickets will be drawn randomly for chances to win the prizes listed below. The more wineries you visit on the October wine trail, the more chances you have to win! The total value of the prizes offered by the member wineries is over $2500!
Bernhardt Winery:One night stay at The Loft Bed & Breakfast at Bernhardt Winery in Plantersville, Texas. Your intimate stay includes a complimentary bottle of wine, hors d’oeuvres and wine at sunset, and a continental breakfast. Reservations are subject to availability. Value: $350
Cork This! Winery:Gather up your closest friends and head to Cork This! Winery in Montgomery for a bottling party. Participants will bottle, cork, foil, and label a batch of their favorite wine. Custom designed label, wine for drinking while bottling, and hors d’oeuvres included. Yields approximately 28 bottles of wine. Scheduling and wine subject to availability. Value: $450
Messina Hof:One night stay at the Villa Bed & Breakfast located at Messina Hof Winery in Bryan, Texas. Reservations are subject to availability Sunday - Thursday only. Included with your stay is a complimentary bottle of wine, a winery tour and tasting, evening wine and cheese reception in the Wine bar and a delicious European-style champagne breakfast. Value: $400
Pleasant Hill Winery:The Ultimate Gift Basket prepared especially for you by owner Jeanne Cottle. Your basket includes award- winning wines from Pleasant Hill, including their Rosso Forte port-style dessert wine and chocolates infused with the port, unique gifts and goodies from the winery. Retreat Hill Winery and Retreat Hill Cellars:Enjoy an intimate four course dinner and wine pairing for six persons in the “Tank Room” at Retreat Hill Winery and Vineyard or in the historic First State Bank Building in downtown Montgomery. Texas Star Winery:The lucky winners of this prize will receive one case of one case of Hibiscus Flower Wine compliments of owners Earl and Lyn Love. Value: $250
Windy Winery:Join owners August and Linda Meitzen at Windy Winery in Brenham for a private wine tasting event for twelve people. Your wine tasting also includes hors d’oeuvres and a glass of wine per person. Scheduling subject to availability. Value: $300

This is the namesake event for the Texas Bluebonnet Wine Trail. The Spring Bluebonnet Wine and Cheese Trail is a wonderful way to enjoy the beauty of native Texas wildflowers and enjoy the blooming viticulture at some of Texas’ best wineries.
The wineries along the trail will offer a select pairing of two wines and two specially-crafted cheese dishes prepared with Texas cheeses from local artisans. As an added bonus, receive a packet of Texas Wildflower seeds at each winery you visit while supplies last. The Bluebonnets will be in full bloom, and with the late fall and winter rain, this Spring Bluebonnet Trail promises to be one of the most abundant yet. This is the perfect opportunity to see beautiful Texas wildflowers and enjoy fine Texas wine and fantastic cheese pairings.

April 24 - Wine and Roses Festival at Messina Hof Winery & Resort in Bryan
The one-day festival, centered on the celebration of Spring and the blooming of the roses and grapes, will run from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 24. Donate canned food items to the Brazos Valley Food Bank and receive a pass for a FREE Tour & Tasting during the festival (each individual must donate 5 cans to receive free pass)!!

Grape Stomping Competition:
Get a team of 2-4 people together, submit completed registration form available at www.messinahof.com. The cost to enter is $40 per team. Groups are welcomed to enter more than one team. Wearing team t-shirts is encouraged.
Teams will compete by filling bottles with the juice that they have stomped. At the end of each 2-minute heat, the winning team with the most juice in their bottle will continue to the next stomping bracket. The Grape Stomping Champion is the team which surpasses all others in collecting the most juice. Prizes will be awarded.

Touring the Texas Bluebonnet Wine Trail on the Harvest Trail is your opportunity to celebrate grape harvest and crush in southeast Texas. See the winemaking process firsthand from vineyard to bottle. For the last two weekends in July 2010, the wineries along the trail will offer a select pairing of two wine tastings, plus each ticket holder will receive a limited-edition poster commemorating the Harvest Trail at their first stop. Take your commemorative poster to each participating winery and gather signatures to make this poster even more meaningful. In addition to the Harvest Trail activities, check with each winery along the trail to determine how they will celebrate harvest in southeast Texas with special events.
