The Texas Bluebonnet Wine Trail offers five planned wine trail events annually — and they are detailed on the home page. Each winery also has its own events, respectively, which are listed by the month below. This is a general listing, so please visit the individual winery sites for more detailed information. For four days on the first two weekends in February 2012, your trail ticket allows you to sample two wine tastings paired with a wonderful chocolate delicacy at each participating winery along the Texas Bluebonnet Wine Trail. This is the perfect way to begin your Valentine's celebration or explore award-winning Texas wines close to home.

Messina Hof Winery & Resort Winter Cooking Class: Berries, Cherries, and Chicken

WHAT: The award-winning Messina Hof Winery and Resort will tickle your taste buds with a variety of themed cooking parties with the Vintage House Chef this winter.
These monthly programs will give guests the opportunity to learn the intricacies of creating the perfect menus for any occasion. The cooking parties will feature an array of themed dishes expertly paired with award-winning Messina Hof wines.
Novice cooks and expert chefs alike will learn an array of useful tips, tricks, recipes and techniques sure to come in handy for any group gathering. All guests will receive a tote bag filled with seasonal goodies and a recipe booklet. Additionally, guests may register to win door prizes that will prove to be useful in the kitchen.

Messina Hof, one of the fastest growing award-winning wineries and resorts in Texas, will host a series of Wine Appreciation Classes this winter.
There are a wide variety of grapes produced throughout the world, which take on many different flavors, textures and forms. Grape varietals are different breeds of grapes that can accentuate wines. Guests will have the opportunity to learn about the wine varietals and wine pairings; as well as taste award-winning Messina Hof wines.

Texas Bluebonnet Wine Trail, Harvest Trail

Texas Bluebonnet Wine Trail, Harvest Trail: July 23-24 and July 30-31, 2011 (Tickets Valid for All Days).
Touring the Texas Bluebonnet Wine Trail on the Harvest Trail is your opportunity to celebrate grape harvest and crush in southeast Texas. See the winemaking process firsthand from vineyard to bottle. On the last two weekends in July, the 10 member wineries along the trail will offer a select pairing of two wine tastings and a fabulous food pairing. Plus, each ticket holder will receive a unique wine glass charm at each winery you visit. If you visit 8 of the 10 member wineries, you will receive a special "Texas Bluebonnet Wine Trail" charm.
In addition to the Harvest Trail activities, check with each winery along the trail to determine how they will celebrate harvest in southeast Texas with special events. Tickets for this event are available by clicking the LocalWineEvents.com icon.
Your trail tickets are good on any of the dates, July 23-24 or July 30-11, 2011, regardless of when you purchase them. Blaze your own trail and pick where you want to start and where you want to end. You have four days over two weekends to visit all 10 wineries. The official hours for this event are 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday and Noon to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday for each trail weekend. All wineries are open during the official trail hours. Several wineries open earlier or close later than the official hours, so please check the Texas Bluebonnet Wine Trail website for specific winery hours. The Texas Bluebonnet Wine Trail wineries remind you to drink responsibly and designate a driver.

Bernhardt Winery: Estate Blanc du Bois and white sherry named Vin du Soliel paired with homemade butter pound cake topped with fresh summer fruit marinated in 2010 Blanc du Bois.
Colony Cellars: Warm chunks of crusty French bread with tasting room dipping sauce. Served with Crisp Texas Red and Rich Texas Blush.
Cork This! Winery: Cucumber and olive appetizer paired with Boatitis Chardonnay and Sisters Who Sip Blueberry Pinot Noir.
Messina Hof Winery: Messina Hof Cedar Crest Vineyard Shiraz, paired with Wateroak Farm Herb de Provence Ricotta Toast Point and Cranberry Shiraz Jam. Our second wine selection is Messina Hof Sophia Marie Rose.
Pleasant Hill Winery: Your choice from select daily tastings plus Blanc du Bois, served with seasonal fruit and berries marinated in Blanc du Bois over pound cake.
Retreat Hill Cellars: Pick your pair from our tasting room menu, paired with slow smoked, pulled pork sliders.
Retreat Hill Winery & Vineyard: Marinated and grilled shrimp and scallops on field greens paired with Retreat Hill FM 1836 Riesling and Retreat Hill Chardonnay.
Saddlehorn Winery: "Picnic on a Plate" served with Blanc du Bois (Semi) and Barn Red.

Bernhardt Winery's 6th Anniversary

WHAT: Messina Hof Winery and Resort, one of the fastest growing award-winning wineries and resorts in Texas, continues its Thank Goodness It's Wine Sunday (TGIWine Sunday) series, at the wine bar this winter.
TGIWine Sunday is a monthly event that allows guests to sample a variety of Messina Hofs premium award-winning wine varietals. This is the perfect after work venue to mix and mingle while enjoying a taste of Texas best. Attendees can indulge in complimentary cheeses or purchase a delicious starter dish from the wine bar menu to pair with the award-winning selections on display.
Messina Hof is offering two options for TGIWine Sunday:

Wine Appreciation Classes
WHAT: Messina Hof, one of the fastest growing award-winning wineries and resorts in Texas, will host a series of Wine Appreciation Classes this winter.
There are a wide variety of grapes produced throughout the world, which take on many different flavors, textures and forms. Grape varietals are different breeds of grapes that can accentuate wines. Guests will have the opportunity to learn about the wine varietals and wine pairings; as well as taste award-winning Messina Hof wines.
The winter classes include:
December 18th, 2011: Wine and Chocolate
January 29th, 2012: XXX
February 26th, 2012: XXX
Messina Hofs monthly Wine Appreciation Classes are taught so everyone from beginner to connoisseur can follow along and learn about the fabulous world of fine wine. Classes are held at 3 p.m., last 90 minutes, and include light cheeses and wines.
